SHOW DATES: November 1 to December 6
RECEPTION DATE: November 5, 2006 (view photos)
TIME: 3:00 to 5:00 pm
WHERE: Perspective Gallery (map), Squires Student Center, VA Tech
WHAT: Computage* |
*Computage is a word I coined in 1995 to describe my work, which sometimes uses encausics, or watermedia, or markers, or graphite, but always involves a computer.
The show includes works that began with one or more digital photos like

Daybreak;
which began with about five different digital shots;
and pieces that reflect my interest in the human figure, like

Weight of the World,
which began with a graphite line drawing that was digitized and colorized and painted;
and some that are pure whimsy, like

The Dog Ate It,
which was finished, but then ...
it had to be changed.
The display cases outside the gallery proper are devoted to four original works paired with the new publications that include them.
Although these four are not for sale, reproductions are available.
